A Pioneering Innovation in Heroin Addiction Treatment

A comprehensive and pioneering treatment option has recently been developed in the field of drug addiction treatment; heroin addiction treatment to be precise. Regardless of how counterintuitive this may sound, this specific addiction treatment procedure focuses on the process of treatment of heroin addicts by prescribing the use of more heroin. Recent data was collected in the field of drug addiction treatment, whereby scientists had carried out extensive studies on cocaine addiction treatment, heroin addiction treatment, meth addiction treatment, oxycontin addiction treatment and alcohol addiction treatment. The data proved an effective treatment of hardened addicts may come in the form of supervised heroin administration provided in select clinics. In fact, some drug addiction professionals firmly believe this method could actually work, while other processes of detoxification and methadone programs are rendered ineffective. However, the most successful treatments in the past have been Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatments.

Similar to the practices of Switzerland, Britain recently completed a four year clinical trial using the alternative drug addiction treatment discussed earlier. In these trials, life-long opiate addicts were given daily heroin injections on a regular basis over the course of a predetermined period of time. Ultimately, the results of this experiment revealed that this experimental method actually helped reduce the rampant use of street drugs as well as the increasing rate of crime among heroin addicted patients. Countries like Switzerland have already integrated this new method into its regular practices. It has also been confirmed that Britain is making the arrangements to do the same.

This pioneering innovation in heroin addiction treatment has led to the establishment of Swiss heroin clinics funded by the state. The same types of clinics are in the process of being developed in Britain for heroin addiction treatment, cocaine addiction treatment, meth addiction treatment and oxycontin treatment for chronic addicts.
John Strang, who features as one of the prime figures in this project on behalf of the King’s Health Partners in London and the National Addiction Center explained, “It’s a less than perfect treatment, but for entrenched addicts, it helps addicts take the first steps toward getting their life together. Some addicts will establish complete recovery, while others will progress from a bad place to a less bad place.”

The Cold Truth about Oxycodone Addiction

Due to the increasing population of doctors and the quickly rising pace at which some of them are prescribing pain treatment medications; all of which are high potency drugs, it has become more and more convenient for patients all around the globe to become dependent on such pain killing drugs like Oxycodone. The drug Oxycodone is exceptionally effective in providing short term relief from chronic pain of the most severe type. Schedule 1 drugs like oxycodone are used to provide relief from chronic pain caused by terminal diseases and serious injuries.

Oxycodone related drugs are purified from morphine. These drugs work by depressing the central nervous system and targeting the brain’s opioid receptors. Opiates are organic drugs derived from opium that is harvested from the poppy plant.

Despite the pain relieving qualities of these types of drugs, Oxycodone and other prescription pain medications are extremely addictive. Patients who are prescribed Oxycodone long term, will almost always become physically dependant; mostly due to carelessness of over-prescribing doctors. Many of our doctors fail to pursue alternative avenues before resorting to prescribing powerful medications to their patients. The lack of respect for opiated medications will often result in the patients having to eventually seek professional drug addiction treatment, or specifically Oxycodone addiction treatment.

As the rate of Oxycodone addiction continues to rise and rise; however, the rate of effective Oxycodone addiction treatment also continues to rise.

Oxycodone addiction should be taken very seriously, and should be dealt with in most professional manner, as the Oxycodone addiction treatment process can very difficult and dangerous. Absolute recovery from Oxycodone addiction may be a very long process; however, overcoming oxycodone addiction is vital to the addict’s survival.

In comparing heroin addiction treatment, cocaine addiction treatment, meth addiction treatment, and alcohol addiction treatment; Oxycodone addiction treatment may very well be the most difficult of all to see through. The abuse of potent Oxycodone related drugs, if left untreated, will often lead to overdose, sometimes fatal overdose. An Oxycodone addiction treatment procedure generally requires patients to enter some type of rehabilitation program. Most rehab centers offer in-house therapy, physicians, and other fellow patients that provide the much needed motivation to succeed. It is also very important that the rehab center provides a high level of care in terms of addressing the detoxification of opiate related drugs.

Ibogaine Is Being Used to Treat Chemical Dependence

Ibogaine is a naturally occurring psychoactive substance that is found only in Africa. Ibogaine is harvested and purified from the Tabernanthe iboga root bark. This particular plant is referred to as an Apocynaceae shrub that primarily grows in the jungles of West Africa. Ibogaine was originally discovered and used by the people of the Gabon in both ritualistic ceremonies, and for medicinal healing. The most recent studies that have been done reveal that Ibogaine also contains extremely effective anti-addictive properties which are now used to treat severe addiction.

One of the most recognized therapeutic attributes of Ibogaine is that it eliminates opioid withdrawal completely. In depth studies and research in the field of addiction have suggested that Ibogaine treatment plays an extremely effective role in all kinds of drug addiction treatments. These treatments include: heroin addiction, cocaine addiction, alcohol addiction, methadone addiction, meth addiction, and oxycontin addiction. Many researchers today share the common belief that Ibogaine also has properties that may in fact help treat compulsive behavioral patterns that are not related to chemical dependence or substance abuse.

The most recognized effects of Ibogaine treatment of chemical dependence is distinguished by three distinctive categories: long term, intermediate, and acute. The intermediate and the acute stages are sometimes also referred to as the after effects. The most significant contributions of Ibogaine treatment include the following:

Ibogaine dramatically reduces the urge to continue the use of opiates, cocaine, alcohol and other mind altering drugs.
Ibogaine has been proven to greatly reduce the withdrawal symptoms of stimulants and opioid narcotics.

As Ibogaine has been proven to be effective in treating drug addiction, it also has been proven that the Ibogaine treatment is effective for alcohol addiction treatment. The finite availability of data that is accessible suggests Ibogaine may be effective in treating patients who are dependent on alcohol, but is much more effective for patients who are suffering from poly-addiction diagnosis.

When Ibogaine treatment is used to treat alcohol addiction, the protocol is very similar to the ibogaine treatment protocols used for drug addiction. The outcome of almost any Ibogaine treatment will depend on whether the patient truly wants to stop using, and if the patient has in place an effective after care plan for their long term recovery.

Ibogaine is derived from a natural substance and is now the latest and most effective discovery in drug addiction treatment that has brought forth a fresh source of hope for rapid recovery from severe drug addiction. Ibogaine, also referred to as the Tree of Life, is an indigenous shrub only to be found in the rain forests of West Africa. The scientific name of Ibogaine is Tabernanthe iboga.

For over 1,000 years, the root bark of this West African shrub has been used by the people of the Gabon in tribal initiation ceremonies. The taking of the Ibogaine was primarily used as a part of the rituals of the Bwiti religion. The Iboga root was and still is also used by the Gabon people for various medicinal applications as well. Over the past 20 years, research scientists from all over the world have been studying Ibogaine in the hope of better understanding the therapeutic effects of treating drug addiction.

The purified substance, otherwise known as Ibogaine, is largely used as a treatment for heroin, methadone, cocaine, oxycodone, tobacco, and alcohol addiction. This drug is extracted from the root of the Iboga shrub. The early studies on Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine derivatives that were carried out in parts Europe and the Americas showed the Ibogaine treatment to promote an instant decrease in the level of cravings for drug and alcohol use. Ibogaine has also been proven to alleviate a significant amount of withdrawal symptoms associated with drug and alcohol detox. Ibogaine has been proven to be the world’s most effective method used in treating addicts.

The discovery made while researching Ibogaine has provided the world’s scientists with a powerful tool that can be used to study the brain’s rational behind addiction. After all, it is only through understanding the brain’s relation to addiction that we are then able successfully treat the underlying problems.

There are still many mysteries regarding Ibogaine and its effects on the brain. However, the on-going studies and clinical trials continue to provide us with more and more insight into Ibogaine’s many medicinal properties. There is a very realistic possibility that the long active metabolite of the Ibogaine drug will be used in a patch technology some day; very similar to the types of patches which are currently used for the addiction treatment of nicotine.

When it comes to drugs, alcohol, and/or food addiction, we often believe people who suffer from addiction bring it on themselves. However, an overwhelming amount of new research suggests this might in fact not be true at all. Furthermore addiction may actually be a genetic disorder.

Mitchell Wallick, PhD reports “addiction definitely has a hereditary component”. In fact Wallnick’s research has shown that even in twins who are separated at birth, if one twin has an addiction, there is an increased likelihood the other twin will develop addiction as well.

Many studies have shown the role genetics and heredity play in addictions are very real. Parents who are predisposed to addiction will often have children who are also predisposed to addiction. “We have PET scan studies of the brains of patients who are addicted and who have brain anomalies. Initially, we thought that addiction caused the anomalies,” says Dr. Wallick. “Further study of the children of these addicts showed that they also had a high instance of the same abnormalities and consequent addictive behaviors.

Nature vs. Nurture

As child is genetically predisposed to addiction, this does not necessarily mean that they will eventually become addicted. However, this does in fact mean the chances of becoming addicted to a specific substance or the behavior displayed upon exposure is much greater. Addiction should be viewed as a chemical imbalance allergy. The chemical imbalance is what makes people have a predisposition to addiction. This makes people more vulnerable.

Almost all experts in the field of addiction agree that there is some combination of both genetics and learned behavior in an addiction; however, these two schools of thought lead to two different approaches in treating addiction. There are arguments made by experts in the field that suggest addiction is a moral choice, and therefore is viewed only as a behavioral problem. Experts who support this school of thought agree that someone diagnosed with addiction or addictions can learn to moderate their behavior and can learn to reduce their consumption of drugs and/or alcohol. In other words they are suggesting these people are able to have one drink a week or get high once per week. Experts who believe genes are the real culprit will also claim that heredity supports the saying “once an addict, always an addict.” The most widely prescribed addiction treatment amongst people who share this approach is more often a 12-step support group, such as Alcoholics Anonymous.

Breaking the Life Cycle of Addiction is Possible

Addiction has a very distinct life cycle. At the root of addiction, are addicts experiencing emotional or physical pain. Maybe some addicts have had a death in the family, a rejection by a lover, or a debilitating injury that causes chronic pain. Most addicts are basically good people who have trouble dealing with the difficulties of life. They may be unable deal with the problem, and possibly see their present situation as hopeless. The major difference between addicts and non-addicts is that addicts will use drugs or alcohol to deal with life’s problems.

Depression, Obsession and the Cycle of Addiction

As the addiction grows, the addict will begin to conceal their drug use from loved ones. Overcome by guilt, the addict may start to withdraw from family and friends. Addicts may often become belligerent and start to behave oddly. Once addicted, addicts will often sacrifice anything in order to continue using drugs or alcohol. Family and friends, jobs, savings, etc.; nothing is considered going too far. Getting and using more drugs or alcohol is now the most vital thing in the addict’s life.

The “Drug Personality”

There is such a thing as a “drug personality.” This personality is artificial and is created by the continued use of drugs. The addict’s personality may change drastically to one secretly harboring hostilities and hatreds they do not permit to show on the surface.

People who display a drug personality may:

Show mood swings
Prove to be unreliable
Fail to finish projects
Have unexpressed resentment and secret hatreds
Be dishonest and lie to family, friends and employers
ISilvate themselves and withdraw from those who love him
Appear depressed
Begin stealing from family and friends

The craving is an extremely powerful urge and can cause the addict to rationalize why they should continue using drugs or alcohol; even if the addicts really wants to stop. The addict is now in the vicious cycle of addiction: trying to quit, craving, fear of withdrawal, relapse.

Treatment Focused on Breaking the Cycle of Addiction

Traditional drug and/or alcohol addiction treatment focuses mainly on spiritual talk therapy, while the addiction’s underlying physiology is never addressed. Modern, more effective treatments like Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatment are designed to focus on correcting the neurological imbalances caused by substance abuse. Preexisting imbalances are the direct cause of addiction and if left untreated, lead directly to relapse. If you or a loved one is in need of addiction treatment, it is highly recommended you research Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatment to see if it is right for you.

Heroin abuse amongst adolescents and teenagers

Over the last few years, law enforcement officials and drug addiction treatment professionals have noticed a disturbing reoccurrence. Although heroin use and heroin addiction has decreased overall, there has been a dramatic increase in the level of heroin use and heroin addiction in adolescents and teens.

As a result of this recent discovery, a study has been carried out in order to indentify a few particular trends that may possibly be responsible for the increased heroin use amongst our teens. Studies that were carried out in Chicago, Mobile, NY City, and Portland, have shown that the easy accessibility of prescription opiate based painkillers is the most likely culprit leading to heroin addiction. As for now, the diminishing use amongst adult heroin addicts has shifted the focus of drug dealers to the teenage population.

As we have come to know these truths, we are now confronted with the alarming realization there is cause for an immediate response to address the needs of our youth. Teenagers who seek not just heroin addiction treatment, but cocaine addiction treatment, alcohol addiction treatment, meth addiction treatment, or Oxycontin addiction treatment, there are a finite number of options available. The most commonly practiced options in heroin addiction treatment involve switching patients to Suboxone or methadone. However, a very common and serious reoccurring problem amongst heroin users is that they seem to gain a tolerance to these drugs very quickly, constantly having to raise the dosage. Methadone and Suboxone are at best, merely temporary solutions to the real problem. Therefore, addicts will need to thoroughly research drug addiction treatment programs specifically designed to completely separate them from all drugs. The only type of treatment designed to completely separate from all drugs is Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatment.

In most cases, teenage heroin users are afraid to be forthcoming about their addictions and are usually a little apprehensive to ask their family for help. Unfortunately, in some cases when people wait too long to ask for help, drug addiction treatment is no longer a viable option.

As stated previously, the most obvious contributing factor of the recent increased heroin use is the abundant availability of opiate based pain killers, or prescription drugs. Thanks to drugs like Hydrocodone and Oxycontin, more and more people are becoming familiar with effects of opiate addiction. It is exactly these types of drugs that are truly the gateway to heroin addiction. The recovery rate amongst heroin addicts is less than 3%; however when Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatment is administered, the success rates drastically improve.

Fear of Detox

The single most common reason why people who suffer from alcohol addiction refuse to accept to enter addiction treatment is because they are afraid to go through the alcohol detox phase of the process. Sometimes people view alcohol detox as still being performed in the manner that it was in the 1940s and 1950s. During the early days of alcohol treatment, patients had to be constrained in strait-jackets while suffering through horrible withdrawals. However, in today’s world it is safe to say these old detox methods are counterproductive and are no longer used.

Modern Alcohol Detox

Alcohol addiction rehab treatment has dramatically improved over the last 70 years. Today there are more modern alcohol detoxifications protocols designed to eliminate many of the most painful or uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms associated with detox. The most effective alcohol addiction treatment available today is known as Ibogaine treatment. Ibogaine is illegal in the United States, but is available in select locations around the world. However, even with the advancements of Ibogaine treatment, recovering from alcoholism is still not an easy process. Recovery from alcohol addiction is still a difficult and lengthy process that requires ongoing support.

Surviving Alcohol Detox

Before any person may begin the alcohol detox and rehabilitation process, they will first have to accept they have a problem with alcohol and that they need help. Another vital step patients will need to take in order to successfully recover from alcohol detox and rehab is to follow their aftercare program as closely as possible. This as they say “is where the rubber meets the road”. When reintegrating into regular life, you will need to have a rigid structure or routine you follow so you do not get lost in sobriety.

Start Your Alcohol Detox and Recovery Process Now

If you need alcoholism treatment and you are ready to regain control of your life, begin researching available treatments today. Make sure that you choose an alcohol addiction treatment that is appropriate for you and that will meet your specific needs and concerns. Alcoholism is a chronic and progressive addiction, so do not allow it to steal another minute of your life. Do not waste any more time, begin researching Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatment providers today.

Oxycontin addiction should be taken very seriously and dealt with the utmost precision as the Oxycontin addiction treatment process is very tough. Complete recovery from Oxycontin addiction is usually a very long process; however, overcoming the addiction is vital to the patient’s survival.

Compared to cocaine addiction treatment, heroin addiction treatment, meth addiction treatment, and alcohol addiction treatment; Oxycontin addiction treatment is most likely the most difficult one of all. The continued abuse of potent opiate related drugs will most often lead to overdose. The Oxycontin addiction treatment procedure generally requires patients to enter a rehabilitation program for a certain period of time. Rehab centers offer in-house therapy, physicians, and other fellow patients that provide the much needed motivation to succeed. It is very important that the rehab center you choose will provide a high level of care in addressing the detoxification of opiate related drugs.
